Biodegradable products are much better than other products. What are biodegradable products? How do they work? Lets find out.
'Biodegradable' means to break down quickly. It is much better than other plastic because take 450 years to break down, whereas it takes biodegradable plastic 3 to 6 months to break down. You can also get biodegradable cups, cutlery, food containers, bottles and much more. Biodegradable products take a much shorter time to break down, that's why they are used much more now.

Pros and cons of Bio Plastic
Pros:
Reduces fossil-fuel
Manufacturing process uses up to 65% less energy and generates fewer greenhouse gasses
Cons:
Higher manufacturing cost
Not all are recyclable
If they're sent to landfill, some can release methane into the atmosphere
Although, plastic bags still kill animals. Plastic bags should be reused or disposed probably in a bin and not left lying around. Biodegradable plastic bags are used instead of normal plastic bags because of the quicker time they take to break down but yes, still bad for animals. Say 'no' to plastic bags. Bring your own reusable fabric bag, buy food with less packaging, recycle your plastic bags and reuse plastic bottles to help stop the use of plastic bags.

Fact of the day: Currently in Australia, only 3% of plastic bags used are recycled.
